Crystal Palace Work

Here are a selected number of photos from our trip to Crystal Palace park. I experimented with the depth of field, the aperture, foreground, middle ground and background, the rule of thirds and leading lines.

In this photograph, I have tried to have a foreground, middle ground and a background. The flowers in the left corner are the focus in the foreground, the tree just to the right of the centre is the middle ground, and the white sign is in the background. I have also used the river as a leading line, so if the viewers eyes follow the river, they will end up at the sing. Also, this photo uses symmetry, as the various trees are reflected in the water.

I like this picture because I believe it is a good photo to show reflection. This willow tree has a vibrant green colour and so has a good reflection in the water. Compared to the above photo, this is a better way of showing symmetry. The colour of the willow is a lighter shade of green than most of the other trees around, which makes it stand out.

This is one of my favourite photos that I took. Even though the trip wasn't to get close up photos, I couldn't help but notice how the water droplets were so distinctive on the leaves. It may have been better if I could have got all the leaves in focus, but I still think the attention should be on the front leaves because they are a vibrant green and the droplets make the photograph more dynamic.

This photograph is a good example of using leading lines to make a photo more interesting. I have also made an edit in Lightroom of this photo.

Here I have taken a photo of two benches and I have tried to make them look symmetrical .

Below are some more photos from Crystal Palace.
